HaLLoWeEn FuN!

Well we had a fun Halloween~ Kaden was an adorable giraffe. It went perfectly with the color of his hair. And he loved his costume. It was a little small, it was for 2-4 yr. olds, but this kid is just growing and it didn't fit him very well. But, he still looked so cute! We went to my parents ward trunk or treat, and carnival. Kaden had a great time going around to all the cars and then playing some fun games. Obviously he enjoyed the candy the best. He would open a sucker, suck on it for a few minutes, then open another one and do the same thing. I dont really enjoy Halloween, but it's so much more fun when you have a little boy who really enjoys it.

His little bum looked so cute! It was full of padding and just so funny. That was my favorite part of his costume!

Brady made Kaden a little mask the other night and he thinks he is Super-man when he wears it! I think little boys are so much fun. I told Brady that I wouldn't mind only having boys! Not that I wouldn't love a little girl someday, but boys are just fun-I love watching Kaden play football and wrestle with his uncles!! He is such a fun boy. Anyway--
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!!

That time of year...

Yay for Fall!! This is such a fun time of year.. and it wouldn't feel like Fall without carving some pumpkins. I attempt to do something cool and it usually turns out pretty crappy.. but with Brady's help it always looks good! So we grabbed some pumpkins and had a fun night carving them. Kaden enjoyed taking the carving knives and poking them in the pumpkin. He doesn't like to get his hands dirty, so touching the stuff inside the pumpkin kinda grossed him out. So he didn't really want to help clean it out. He also took a bite of the nasty stuff from inside the pumpkin and didn't really enjoy it too much..
Kaden was saying "Pumpkin!" - that was the only way
we could get him to look at the camera.

The finished products! Brady's is the skeleton and mine is the monster. Technically they both should be Brady's since he did most of the work on mine!
Happy Fall!

Island Park

We got a chance to head up to Island Park on Saturday-Monday. We lOvE going up there and spending time with my family every year. This year Kim & Matt's family came along too. We had fun playing in the hot tub, playing Mastermind (which I am actually pretty good at, even though it's quite a thinking game!), going for a few walks trying to see some animals. We never did see any animals, Kaden was hoping to see some zebras, elephants, and kangaroos. Poor kid thought we were in the jungle or something! We had fun and wish we could've stayed longer! Thanks Mom and Dad!!

Scentsy & Soup

So a girl in my ward does Scentsy and has wanted me to have a party- but instead of doing a party, she brought over a basket that has tons of scents in it and all the info in it. So I have the basket for a week and can take it to anyone or they can come to my house if they want anything! So let me know if anyone is interested in any Scentsy things.. the new smell for this month is Honey Pear Cider~ it smells sooo good!! There's so many good Fall scents too. There's also car scents that me & Brady love! So just let me know and I can take the basket to you or you can run by my house! Thanks!!

AnYwAyS....
Last night I made Ham & Potato Soup~ very yummy! It's Brady's (and mine) favorite soup!! Here's the recipe.. from allrecipes.com:

3 1/2 cups peeled and diced potatoes
1/3 cup diced celery
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
3/4 cup diced cooked ham
3 1/4 cups water
2 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1 teaspoon ground white or black pepper, or to taste
5 tablespoons butter
5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk

1. Combine the potatoes, celery, onion, ham and water in a stockpot. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the chicken bouillon, salt and pepper.
2. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour with a fork, and cook, stirring constantly until thick, about 1 minute. Slowly stir in milk as not to allow lumps to form until all of the milk has been added. Continue stirring over medium-low heat until thick, 4 to 5 minutes.
3. Stir the milk mixture into the stockpot, and cook soup until heated through. Serve immediately.

I bought some already cut up ham from Wal-Mart for like $2. It was nice to have it already chopped up and ready to throw in the pan.

Enjoy!!

Chili.. yummy!

Yesterday felt like winter.. so when I got up, Chili sounded so good. I put the Chili in my crock pot and it made my house smell so good- I wanted to eat it for lunch! So, here's my Chili recipe- it's nothing super special, but we enjoy it.. I use:

(This is a picture of the chili.. I took it myself!)

1 lb. Hamburger

1 can kidney beans, with liquid

1 can diced tomatoes

1 can tomato sauce

2 C. Water (more or less depending on how you like it..)

Minced Garlic (these next few, I just guess on the amounts)

Onion (I use minced)

Chili Powder

Salt & Pepper

Put in crock pot on low for 6-8 hours.

I also wanted some kind of biscuit to go with the chili, but I didn't have any Bisquick to make garlic cheddar biscuits. I found a recipe on-line, but they were really weird! So I would suggest sticking with the Bisquick recipe for those biscuits. They're much better!

By the way- where the heck did Fall go?? I can't believe how cold it is already! I was ready for a break from the heat.. but this is not what I was ready for! Ugh.. I hope it warms up a little bit and can feel more like Fall for a little while, instead of Winter already!

We went over to Twin Falls on Sunday to celebrate my mom's birthday and Annie's birthday. I didn't take any pictures while we were there... but we had so much fun! Kaden loves playing with his cousins~ these pictures are from last summer. Kaden has changed so much!

Kaden loves Grandma Brenda!

My mom is such a great example-a great mother,

grandmother, and in serving others. We love you Mom!

Kaden & Annie~(I forgot that he had fallen

last year and scraped his nose pretty bad..

so no it's not a huge booger hanging out of

his nose!)

Happy early Halloween!

My cute little turtle! :)
He was just trying this one on.. it's about 3 sizes too small.
We got him a giraffe costume instead-very fitting with
the color of his hair! And he chose it himself.. very cute!
I think he will get Halloween a little more this year, rather
than last year.

the BEST concert EVER!!

This past weekend was my trip down to Utah for the Brad Paisley concert. We started out the day shopping, eating lunch, then getting ready for the concert at our hotel. Heading out to the concert was very memorable! We missed the exit we were supposed to take, so we kept going and got off a different exit.. I called Brady since he used to live down there, and he walked us through getting there (and Andrew, Amanda's GPS guy on her phone..). We accidentally turned down the wrong road, which was actually a highway, so we freaked cause we were going the wrong direction, so Amanda pulls into the other lane, which was a one way and we were going the WRONG way!! So we all scream (no bad words, of course.. ;) )... and Amanda flips around, and we started heading the right way. Needless to say, we made it to the concert about an hour 1/2 early. Which was good because we thought for sure we were going to be way late!

We had amazing tickets! We walked in and thought we would be close, but not like way close. Well, we were wrong- we were six rows back from the STAGE! This picture shows just how close we were. It was loud, but we didn't care! It was too much fun to really notice.

Jimmy Wayne opened the concert. He was very good. He came into the crowd and came right past us. He sings "Do you believe me now". (It's a good song.. look it up!)

Dierks Bentley came out next. He was AMAZING!! Other than being totally cute, he was so into the crowd and so energetic. He came over to the side we were sitting and looked RIGHT at US and was singing, and he pointed and winked at US!! Honestly, we flipped out. There was an older couple behind us laughing their HEADS off at us and telling us to calm down! But, seriously who wouldn't flip if DIERKS BENTLEY looked right at you, made eye contact with you! .. Okay, that was our moment that we felt like teenagers again! :)

*I am mad because my pictures of Dierks aren't great..
but he was sooo good!*

Brad Paisley.. YES we were that close to him! In fact, Kandace touched his leg numerous times.. :) Here's what happened.. right before Brad started, the security guys were like telling people they could go right up next to the stage. We were like no, we dont want to. Well, the older couple behind us were like, you girls should go up there! So we did.. and got right next to the stage! He was soo good! All these guys sounded as good live as they do on the radio. Brad was more into playing his guitar (he plays the guitar in all of his songs), then really connecting with the crowd. But, he is an amazing guitarist, so he was really fun to listen to. And he would stop and talk to the crowd and he was very funny. These guys just seem so down to earth and so nice in person. This was the best concert I have EVER been to. Brad Paisley performed for like 2 1/2 hours. We were tired of standing (we had basically been standing the whole time.. like close to 4 hours). So we took off a little early. As we were walking out, we heard everyone screaming- we turned and Dierks and Jimmy Wayne both were back out on stage RIGHT where we WERE standing!! We freaked! But, we were like oh well! So we left! But, the concert was so entertaining and FUN the whole time. Even better because we had such AWESOME seats!!

**We're already talking about next year.. so if anyone is interested let me know!! This was such a fun trip.. so let's go next year ladies!!**
